Safeguards Wakam's financial health through strategic fiscal management, budgeting, and financial reporting.The Finance team plays a crucial role in supporting the company's growth objectives, from financial planning and analysis to risk management and compliance, we're committed to driving efficiency and maximizing value across the organization.As Chief Accounting & Tax Officer, you will lead this function end-to-end and act as a key partner to the CFO and other senior leaders.As Chief Accounting & Tax Officer, you will be responsible for organising, steering, and securing all accounting and tax activitiesfor the Group, while leading and developing a team of around 20 professionals.Your mission spans four main pillars:Leadership & Organisation of the Accounting FunctionLead, structure, and mentor a teamcovering general accounting, technical insurance & reinsurance accounting, and taxAct as theguarantor of French GAAP accounting and quarterly/annual closingsfor all French entities.OverseeGroup accounting, coordinating all quarterly and annual closings for theBig Wakam Groupunder French GAAP, in close collaboration with FP&A, Technical, Risk, and Data Management teams.Strengthen accounting processes and controls, particularly forreinsurance recognition and monitoring.Statutory, Regulatory & Solvency II ReportingEnsure the production ofFrench GAAP statutory financial statementsfor French entities.Oversee the preparation and quality ofSolvency II regulatory reportingfor French entities, in line with regulatory expectations and Group timelines.Responsible for the production of financial reportings as requested by various stakeholdersTax Management & ComplianceEnsure that alltax returns (excluding payroll/social taxes)are prepared and filed accurately and on time, across all territories where the Group operates.Be theguarantor of the reliabilityof tax declarations (corporate income tax, VAT, insurance premium taxes such as TCA, etc.).Implement and maintainrobust, optimised tax processes, aligned with Group governance and local regulations.Conductregulatory watchon accounting and tax topics, coordinate communication to relevant teams, and driveoptimisation and risk mitigation initiatives.Represent the Group in interactions withauditors and tax authoritiesduring statutory audits and tax inspections.Transformation & Cross-Functional ProjectsPlay an active role in thefinance transformation roadmap, including majortool and system changes(new general ledger, consolidation tools, reporting solutions, etc.).Contribute your expertise tocross-functional projectsthat impact financial statements and financial communication at both entity and Group level.🧠 What You BringExtensive experience (15+ years)in Accounting, Consolidation, and Tax, within aninsurance group or regulated financial institution.Proven track record inleading and structuring accounting teams, including at least several years in aHead of Accounting / Chief Accounting / Tax leadershipposition.Deep knowledge ofFrench GAAPand strong familiarity withSolvency IIreporting requirements.Solid experience withinsurance and reinsurance technical accounting, including ceded business and related controls.Strong expertise incorporate taxation(CIT, VAT, insurance premium taxes / TCA, etc.) andtax process design.Experience inmulti-entity, multi-country Group environments, ideally with consolidation exposure.Demonstrated experience infinance transformation projects(system change, process re‑design, automation, data quality initiatives).Full professional proficiency inFrench and English(spoken and written).Atrusted finance leader, capable of combiningoperational rigourwithstrategic vision.Highlystructured and rigorous, with an exceptional attention to detail and a strong sense ofownership and accountability.Comfortable making decisions in complex environments, and able toprioritise and arbitrateunder time constraints (closing calendars, regulatory deadlines).An excellentpeople manager, able todevelop, challenge, and empowera diverse team, while fostering collaboration and high standards.A strongcross-functional partner, able to work effectively with FP&A, Risk, Technical, Legal, Data, and business teams.Change-oriented, with the ability to drive and embody transformation (tools, processes, ways of working) while bringing teams along.At Wakam, AI and automation are transforming how we design, distribute, and manage insurance — and Finance is no exception.
