Il y a 1 semaine

France, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Irving Scott Temps plein

Location: Méribel, French Alps
Contract: Winter season, 1 December 2026 to 30 April 2027
Salary: €800–€900 gross per week
Accommodation: Private live-in annexe

The Role

A private family is looking for a friendly, reliable, and self-sufficient Chalet Host / Housekeeper to look after their family chalet in Méribel for the 2026/27 winter season.

The chalet is for private family use only and is never rented, so this is not a traditional high-volume catered chalet role. It is a relaxed private-household position. The family, two parents and three teenage children, will be in residence for about six to seven weeks across the season: two weeks over Christmas, then around ten days a month in January, February, and March. They prefer simple, informal living and do not want – to be waited on.

The chalet has six bedrooms and is a five-minute walk from the centre of town. You will be the only staff member on site, supported by a house manager who handles utilities and maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Looking after the chalet throughout the season, including while the family is away, and preparing it for each arrival
  • General housekeeping, cleaning, and laundry
  • Preparing breakfast daily and two or three simple family dinners a week while the family is in residence
  • Food shopping and keeping the chalet provisioned
  • Liaising regularly with the pool maintenance company and other local service providers
  • Occasional driving, including airport and station transfers (a car is provided for the season)

About You

  • Experienced in housekeeping, ideally in a private household or chalet
  • A good home cook, confident preparing wholesome everyday family meals
  • Well organised, with plenty of initiative and able to work independently
  • Warm, engaging, and discreet
  • Excellent spoken English
  • French is a strong advantage, as you will deal with local contractors and services regularly
  • A full driving licence is preferred
  • You must have the legal right to work in France
  • Available for the whole season

Package

  • €800–€900 gross per week, depending on experience
  • Private accommodation in a separate annexe
  • All in-house living expenses covered
  • Use of a car for the season
  • Season ski pass, ski hire, and travel to and from the resort

Selection Process

Shortlisted candidates will first have a video interview with the family, followed by a face-to-face meeting where practical.
