Carhartt WIP is part of the WIP Trading AG. Our family-owned business group started as a licensee and European distributor of the US workwear manufacturer Carhartt in the early 1990s. Since then, it develops its own collections based on workwear originals.

Carhartt Work In Progress aims to continuously progress and evolve, without ever losing sight of its origins. Over the course of the past two decades, our business has developed organically, along with its customers, the culture that surrounds the brand, and its employees who have helped shape what Carhartt WIP is today.

For our office in Paris/France we are looking for you as

Head of Visual Merchandising (m/f/x)

Your Responsibilities:
  • Develop seasonal visual merchandising, creative window concepts and guidelines that align with Carhartt WIP collection themes and brand identity.
  • Lead the European Visual Merchandisers team in a collaborative environment that encourages creativity and professional growth. Ensure consistent strategy execution across all locations.
  • Establish and implement standards for product presentation, including planogram design and store layout optimization to maximize visual impact and sales potential.
  • Develop merchandising guidelines and training to enhance team skills and ensure consistent execution.
  • Define and oversee the communication plan for store signage, incorporating both print and video elements to effectively communicate brand messages and promotions.
  • Oversee the selection of vendors and suppliers, manage material needs such as mannequins, hangers and display accessories, and ensure timely placement and monitoring of vendor orders.
  • Analyze store layouts and floor plans to determine optimal product placement, ensuring that presentation standards are met and that each location is adapted to its unique character.
  • Contribute to the production and setup of seasonal global sales meetings and marketing activities within retail and wholesale accounts, ensuring alignment with brand strategies.
  • Test and analyze merchandising strategies to ensure they meet technical and brand objectives. Implement necessary adjustments to optimize performance.
  • Benchmark external visual merchandising practices and recommend corrective actions to maintain and improve excellence.
Your Profile:
  • Relevant experience in a similar position
  • International experience is preferred
  • Strong skills in self-organization, communication, multitasking, and improvisation
  • Fluency in English (C1 level), with excellent verbal and written communication skills; French is a plus
  • Expertise in Adobe Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign), Microsoft Office/365 (Excel, Teams, Outlook), and Apple Keynote
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics NAV ERP, 3D software (Google SketchUp, AutoCAD, Rhino), and AI-based creation tools
  • Proficiency in Smart Prospective for managing and programming in-store video content is a plus
  • Experience with Adobe Premiere for light video editing to adapt content for store broadcast systems is advantageous
