Join to apply for the Outside Sales Representative role at PMI Pipe, Steel, and Supplies An Outside Sales Representative conducts sales in the field via face‑to‑face interactions with both potential and existing customers. They are responsible for offering the best possible customer experience and for providing hands‑on explanations of any new or updated products when necessary. This position is responsible for growing the company's sales while following the Company Mission Statement, Vision Statement, and Code of Ethics. Responsibilities Travel within the San Antonio and Southwest Texas territory to meet prospects and customers Conduct calls and face‑to‑face meetings with customers daily Build and maintain relationships with new and repeat customers Understand customer needs and requirements Maintain records of all sales leads and/or customer accounts on computerized accounting system/CRM Have an excellent knowledge of company inventory Educate customers on how products or services can benefit them financially and professionally Sell the company’s products or services to customers within your given territory Monitor the company’s industry competitors, new products, and market conditions to understand a customer’s specific needs Close sales and achieve monthly quotas Maintain and expand your database of prospects within your assigned territory Keep management informed by submitting activity and results reports, such as daily call reports, weekly work plans, and monthly territory analyses Generate and review required daily, weekly, and monthly reports Excel/CRM as required. Call report Review reporting received by the management team Utilize all available resources to reach out to prospects and attempt to turn those prospects into customers Collaborate with the management team to improve marketing materials and expand the company’s marketing presence in Texas Attend industry trade shows and after‑hours events to accumulate new leads and make productive contact with existing clients Communicate with accounting department on any updated client/vendor information Stay on top of industry/market trends to identify potential opportunities for company growth Attend sales meetings Care for and upkeep automobile and turn in required automobile reports Some inside sales and warehouse work may be required due to size of location Other duties as assigned Requirements Successful previous experience as a sales representative, consistently meeting or exceeding targets Experience working with Profit 21 or similar CRM, Excel, MS programs, Zoom, Teams, etc. Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close Strong business sense and industry expertise Ability to multi‑task, prioritize and manage time effectively Skills Must be willing to drive and be on the road at least 75 percent of the time Computer skills and demonstrated ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, Zoom, etc. Self‑motivated and comfortable working with little to no direction Excellent interpersonal communication skills Qualifications Legally eligible to work in the United States Bachelor’s Degree or 5+ years’ experience in related field preferred Excellent driving records, able to meet Pipe Movers, Inc. driving qualifications Must be able to read and speak the English language well enough to communicate, understand, and respond to questions, directions, traffic signs, signals and training Spanish as a second language is a plus Working Conditions Office environment and traveling to and from businesses Prolonged sitting in vehicle Walking on concrete warehouse flooring and gravel yard to review stock NOTE The above statements are intended to describe the general nature of work performed by the Outside Sales Representative.
