Ledger is a global platform for digital assets and Web3, with a presence in multiple regions and a team delivering a range of products and services to securely buy, store, swap, grow and manage crypto assets, including Ledger hardware wallets.Headquartered in Paris with offices in Vierzon, Grenoble, Montpellier, London, Portland, Geneva, Zurich and Central Singapore, Ledger has a team of around 600 professionals.What you’ll be doingStrategic LeadershipDefine and execute the platform engineering strategy aligned with business objectives and Infrastructure & Operations goalsLead and manage the Platform Engineering team to high performanceEstablish and govern best practices, standards, and architecture for platform services and production cloud infrastructurePartner with engineering leadership and Infrastructure & Operations teams to define platform and production system requirementsAct as the final escalation point for complex platform engineering issues beyond Level 2 operations supportPlatform Development & InfrastructureOversee the design, development, and maintenance of developer platforms enabling application delivery, CI/CD, and deployment automationBuild and maintain platform infrastructure, cloud environments, and tooling in line with architectural standards and requirementsDesign and operate scalable, highly available, and reliable production systems and servicesLead initiatives for infrastructure as code (IaC), observability, and monitoring across development and production environmentsProvide expert‑level technical leadership during complex platform, infrastructure, and production incidentsTeam ManagementRecruit, mentor, and develop platform engineers at all levelsFoster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvementManage team performance, career development, and succession planningAllocate resources effectively across multiple platform initiativesBuild strong cross‑functional relationships with Infrastructure & Operations, Engineering, Product, Security, and SRE teamsProvide architectural guidance and mentorship to SRE and Level 2 operations teams, including transition‑to‑support and advanced troubleshootingTechnical ExcellenceDrive adoption of modern platform engineering practices (e.g. GitOps, service mesh, API gateways)Ensure platform and production infrastructure security, compliance, and cost optimisationEvaluate and integrate new technologies to enhance platform capabilities and production system reliabilityMaintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and advanced operational runbooksLead post‑mortems and root cause analysis for escalated platform and cloud infrastructure incidents, driving improvements with SRE teamsDesign and own disaster recovery, backup, and high‑availability strategies for cloud infrastructureCollaborate with Service Quality Management (SQM) teams on incident and problem managementWhat we’re looking for10+ years’ experience in software and platform/infrastructure engineering, including senior technical leadershipBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experienceProven experience leading platform or infrastructure engineering teams, including managers and senior ICs, in distributed and matrixed environmentsDeep expertise in AWS, Kubernetes, containerisation, infrastructure as code, and CI/CD/deployment automationExperience designing, building, and operating developer platforms or internal PaaSKnowledge of platform engineering patterns (e.g. golden paths, paved roads), service mesh, and API managementStrong background in production system architecture, capacity planning, performance optimisation, and incident leadershipExcellent communication skills with senior and executive stakeholdersBenefitsFlexible work options – hybrid policy allowing up to 3 days per week from homeHealth & Wellness support — Health and Life InsuranceFinancial growth opportunities — employees can become shareholders in Ledger and receive other country‑specific financial benefitsCommuter allowance to support transportationLearning & Development — comprehensive training solutions and personalised learningFor regionally specific benefits, your Talent Acquisition contact will be able to provide more information.Inclusion We’re committed to building an inclusive hiring process.
