About the Role
HITACHI ENERGY FRANCE is seeking a highly skilled Senior Legal Counsel to join our Grid Integration team in Rome, Italy. As a trusted business partner, you will provide professional advice on a broad range of legal and integrity issues relating to our business.
Your Responsibilities
- Meet with customers, partners, and suppliers to negotiate contractual terms and drive the development of business models, particularly for high-value complex tenders and projects.
- Work closely with business stakeholders to identify legal issues and develop effective strategies, mitigation actions, and practical solutions.
- Contribute to the review of tender preparation, risk identification, risk review, framework agreements, partnerships, settlements, and other business activities.
- Collaborate with global legal teams and interdisciplinary teams to promote dispute avoidance and manage disputes and litigations.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, as well as internal regulations, in various fields.
- Develop directives and assist with implementation, and collaborate in Risk Management and other internal processes.
- Train Company employees in all legal matters.
Your Background
- A bachelor's degree in French law.
- 8+ years of experience as a lawyer relating to grid systems or major utilities construction/engineering projects, with a successful track record of handling complex international corporate and commercial transactions, as well as significant claims and litigations.
- Knowledge of governmental and commercial regulations and practices, working knowledge of FIDIC and offshore contracts.
- Proven communication, drafting of contracts, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and travel.
- Proficiency in French and English, with proficiency in Italian a plus.
