The Director of Infrastructure will report to the Vice-President of Infrastructure - Europe, playing a crucial role in meeting business goals and driving the growth of the portfolio through high-quality infrastructure transactions that meet established risk-return criteria.
Key Responsibilities
Transactions:
- Carefully select projects for preliminary analysis.
- Conduct comprehensive analyses aligned with sector investment criteria, including overseeing complex financial modeling.
- Exhibit leadership in managing investment files.
- Collaborate with analysts to structure and negotiate transactions, including financing when necessary.
- Independently perform thorough due diligence reviews utilizing appropriate internal and external resources.
- Prepare and present complex files to investment committees and other decision-making bodies.
- Monitor investments rigorously and serve as a corporate director on Boards of Directors for assigned investments.
- Identify and cultivate new opportunities to enhance value in monitored investments.
- Develop strong business relationships with leaders and various financial and industrial partners.
- Evaluate, recommend, and implement strategies for portfolio interests.
- Update dashboards for each investment to ensure proactive monitoring of activities, risk profiles, and fair values.
- Conduct quarterly reviews of managed files.
- Analyze sector challenges and priorities rigorously.
- Propose relevant investment themes.
- Actively engage in forming strategic alliances through business development.
- Represent and enhance CDPQ's presence in the market.
- Serve as a resource for analysts.
- Share experiences and knowledge regularly to improve investment management quality.
- Contribute to the group's performance by fostering collaboration and teamwork.
- Assist in preparing internal reports according to established timelines and policies.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with other teams.
- Minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience in investment management within the infrastructure sector, with a proven track record of monitored files and completed transactions.
- Graduate degree in business administration, engineering, or a related field.
- International market experience is advantageous.
- Extensive knowledge of infrastructure, energy, or related sectors, particularly in Europe.
- Fluency in both French and English, spoken and written, is desirable.
