Aperam is a global leader in the production of stainless, electrical, and specialty steel. As a Senior Business Development Manager, you will play a crucial role in identifying key trends and providing marketing intelligence to our European operations. Your mission will be to develop new markets and applications in partnership with various departments within Aperam and external partners.
Key Responsibilities- Market Analysis: Understand the market and related value chains, identify decision-makers, competitors, and customers.
- Technology Trends: Understand technology trends, strengths, and weaknesses of actors, and identify future leaders in the technology.
- Business Case Development: Elaborate business cases for new markets and products, and monitor them based on business priorities.
- Project Management: Act as a project manager to lead the development of new products and applications until they are ready for market.
- Business Development: Promote innovative solutions with external partners, homologate products to new customers, and build clear value propositions.
- Partnerships: Create and maintain partnerships and collaborations with external partners.
- Number of gate passing/milestones achieved
- Number of successful pre-sales
- Number of realized homologations
- Number of new customers
- Number of business cases and business plans
- Volume and margin of new sales
- Educated as an engineer (materials science preferred) to discuss with experts and understand value creation for clients.
- Minimum 10 years of experience, including marketing/commercial experience in one of our markets, with a genuine interest and experience in the field of applications (preferably France, Italy, and Germany).
- Experience in project management and ability to manage matrix teams.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with creativity.
- Strong communication and language skills: English + another Aperam language (e.g., German, Italian, French, Dutch).
- Team player with ability to build internal and external networks in a partnership mindset.
