The Amazon Security SecDevOps team comprises elite software development engineers who are pivotal in shaping the future of internal security tools within Amazon Security. We develop innovative technologies at an extensive scale to ensure the security of Amazon and its customers. As a software development engineer on this team, you will utilize cutting-edge technologies and Amazon services to enhance the productivity of Amazon security response engineers. You are a software developer who enjoys crafting software solutions that address business challenges and provide customers with efficiency and productivity improvements. Your development experience may include technologies such as AWS, Java, TypeScript, React, Python, MongoDB, and SQL, though familiarity with all is not a prerequisite. Whether you are a front-end developer, back-end developer, or full-stack engineer, our team is expanding and has multiple openings available. A background in security is advantageous but not essential. We are the Amazon SecDevOps team, responsible for developing all APIs, websites, and tools for Amazon Security Operations, including a Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response (SOAR) platform. Our team addresses the most demanding internal development challenges within AWS Security, requiring massive scale, continuous availability, and integration with various other services and tools. To enhance customer satisfaction, we incorporate real-time collaboration features and utilize purpose-built databases while maintaining close engagement with our customers throughout the development lifecycle.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Professional software development experience (non-internship).
- Experience in designing or architecting new and existing systems (design patterns, reliability, and scaling).
- Proficiency in developing for Linux OS (or macOS with command-line experience).
- Programming experience with at least one software language, such as Java, Python, or TypeScript.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Familiarity with the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Knowledge of Cloud Technologies.
- Highly proficient in both spoken and written English (C1).
