The Amazon Security SecDevOps team comprises elite software development engineers tasked with innovating internal security tools within Amazon Security. We create cutting-edge technologies at scale to ensure the safety of Amazon and our customers. As a software development engineer on this team, you will utilize modern technologies and Amazon services to enhance the productivity of our security response engineers. You are a developer who enjoys crafting software solutions that address business challenges while providing efficiency and productivity improvements. Your development experience may include technologies such as AWS, Java, TypeScript, React, Python, MongoDB, and SQL, though familiarity with all of these is not a prerequisite. Whether you are a front-end developer, back-end developer, or full-stack engineer, we are expanding our team and have multiple openings available. A background in security is advantageous but not mandatory. We are the Amazon SecDevOps team, responsible for developing APIs, websites, and tools for Amazon Security Operations, including a Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response (SOAR) platform. Our team tackles complex internal development projects within AWS Security that demand scalability, constant availability, and integration with various services and tools. To enhance customer satisfaction, we incorporate real-time collaboration features and utilize specialized databases while maintaining close communication with our clients throughout the development cycle.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Professional software development experience (non-internship).
- Experience in designing or architecting new and existing systems (design patterns, reliability, and scaling).
- Proficiency in developing for Linux OS (or macOS, with command-line experience).
- Programming experience with at least one language such as Java, Python, or TypeScript.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Familiarity with the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Knowledge of Cloud Technologies.
- High proficiency in both spoken and written English (C1).
