Paris, Île-de-France Amazon Temps plein
Data Center Security Design Engineer

Amazon Web Services (AWS) Infrastructure Services is responsible for the architecture, planning, execution, and management of all AWS global infrastructure. Our mission is to ensure the cloud operates seamlessly, providing reliable access to innovation for our customers. We tackle complex challenges with numerous variables affecting the supply chain, and we seek skilled individuals eager to contribute.

You will collaborate with a diverse group of professionals, including software developers, hardware specialists, network engineers, supply chain experts, security professionals, and operations managers. Together, we strive to uphold the highest standards of safety and security while delivering extensive capacity at the most competitive costs for our clients. Our inclusive culture encourages bold ideas and empowers you to see them through to fruition.

The AWS Design Engineering team is in search of a highly skilled and driven Security Design Engineer to collaborate with our enterprise data center design group, focusing on the development of future data centers that enhance the efficiency of our physical security initiatives.

Responsibilities include designing low-voltage security systems, working alongside the architectural and engineering teams to ensure adherence to security best practices, integrating new systems into the design team's construction plans, and liaising with regional and local security leaders to understand the latest building and security system designs, in compliance with AWS's approved components.

A successful candidate will interpret Risk Assessments and Threat Analyses, applying AWS Physical Security Standards to ensure the appropriate security technologies are chosen to address the unique challenges of a global security framework. Once a new technology is integrated into the data center's physical security strategy, this role will ensure its incorporation into the broader design framework of the data center.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Design and engineer low-voltage security systems
  2. Utilize drafting technologies such as Blue Beam to collaborate with design teams in producing designs in Revit/CAD
  3. Develop specifications and scope of work documentation templates for project managers to facilitate vendor bidding
  4. Provide technical and design assistance to local security teams
  5. Coordinate with various disciplines involved in the design process of new buildings (architectural, mechanical, electrical, civil, IT)
  6. Oversee and approve all design deliverables created by local security teams at each project milestone. Evaluate, accept, or reject alternative designs and mitigation strategies proposed by local teams when standard designs are not applicable
  7. Serve as a subject matter expert to support the implementation of new technologies
  8. Work regionally while also supporting the global Physical Security Architecture team to ensure consistency in decisions and standards
  9. Engage in domestic and international travel for up to a week at a time

About the Team

AWS values diverse experiences. We encourage candidates to apply even if they do not meet all the qualifications and skills outlined in the job description. If your career is just beginning, has not followed a conventional path, or includes alternative experiences, we welcome your application.
