At Renewable Energy Grid Solutions, we are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineering Manager to lead our Offshore HVDC project. As a key differentiator for our business, this project represents a significant opportunity for growth and innovation in the renewable energy sector.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the technical coordination and project technical delivery based on SQDC principles for the assigned scope. This will include project engineering integration of one converter station, coordinating with various partners and package owners, and ensuring the timely delivery of design to stakeholders with suitable quality.
The Project Engineering Manager will be the contact point to the Customer on technical matters and will be responsible for leading the elaboration of the best possible solutions with project members regarding technical aspects. They will also coordinate and manage the global time schedule of engineering activities, follow-up engineering budgets, define the project design quality plan, and ensure the implementation of Engineering Management Handbook 'EMH' guidelines.
Key Responsibilities- Technical Project Management: Oversee the technical coordination and project technical delivery based on SQDC principles for the assigned scope.
- Project Engineering Integration: Integrate project engineering activities with various partners and package owners.
- Time Delivery Mastering: Plan and manage delivery time of technical interfaces with work packages, put in place exchange interface sheets with partners, customer, and third-party contractors.
- Resource Management: Lead and coordinate design teams, follow the engineering budget, and identify potential savings.
- Interface Management: Participate in project multidisciplinary design reviews, organize and manage disciplinary design reviews.
- Project Strategy and Risk Management: Participate in project strategy elaboration, manage scope or design changes, and prepare related claims and VO.
- Customer Relationship: Analyze customer technical requirements, prepare and consolidate clause-by-clause analysis, and ensure compliance to customer requirements.
- Document and Configuration Management: Manage and track evolution of input data, submit documents to customer, and review submission status.
- Design Expediting: Prepare or review technical specifications and supplier's documents to enable procurement of materials and plant detailed design.
- Process and Tools: Deploy Engineering tools associated with work packages, integrate EHS requirements, and implement KPIs defined on engineering process.
- Interface with Procurement, Supplier/Partner Management: Participate in project equipment and materials procurement cycle, support sourcing and procurement in the definition of the Supplier's list, and coordinate with relevant people the review of technical offers from suppliers.
- Interface with Construction: Involve Construction Team on Design review to perform constructability analysis, support site organization during site preparation and throughout construction and commissioning stage.
- Return of Experience and Knowledge Capitalization: Organize Eng project teams ROE according to unit process, provide data and inputs for project RoE, and support functional knowledge capitalization for dedicated practice areas.
- Quality: Comply with Quality Procedures, work instructions, and Processes defined at Unit, project level, and in EMH.
- Health and Safety: Implement design freeze and EHS in design, demonstrate EHS leadership, and ensure Zero Deviation Plan is implemented within the team.
- Engineering degree level or equivalent education.
- 10-12+ years of Engineering activities as lead engineer in EPC type environment in T&D, Power Gen, or Oil&Gas industry.
- Experience on HVDC project as PEM/deputy to Sr.PEM.
- Exposure to several of the applicable engineering disciplines for the business scope considered.
- Successful experience in project technical management in a multi-disciplinary team's context including multiple interfaces and with products coming from several countries.
- Fluent in English.
- Experience of team building as lead engineer.
- Skilled at Influencing and relationship building.
- Experience in technical problem-solving.
- General Knowledge of GRID Solutions factories and products through FAT, site visits.
- Knowledge of Transmission or Distribution industry.
- Willingness to work in different locations for short or medium period and to travel worldwide.
- Demonstrated presentation skills and ability to succinctly communicate complex messages.
- Demonstrates ownership & accountability, judgment, and decision-making, influences & inspires team, creates a vision and strategy, and has passion for the role.
