Role Overview

In light of our robust expansion, we are seeking a Standards and Policy Manager to spearhead and execute PASQAL's standardization initiatives, aimed at establishing standards in quantum computing and elevating PASQAL's technological presence on national, European, and global stages.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Representing PASQAL in various standardization bodies and committees (CEN/CLC, ISO, IEEE-SA, AFNOR) while advocating for the company's interests.
  • Serving as the convenor for the working group WG3 focused on quantum computing and simulation at CEN/CLC.
  • Acting as co-chair for the P3120 working group on quantum computing architecture at IEEE-SA.
  • Collaborating with PASQAL's technical teams to provide necessary technical insights for standardization projects.
  • Engaging quantum experts and broadening the network of active contributors to the standardization efforts through participation in meetings and international conferences, including collaboration with French enterprises to amplify France's representation.
  • Cultivating strong relationships within working groups to promote consensus and collaboration while leading negotiations.
  • Organizing and following up on meetings, along with reporting responsibilities (both internal and external).

This role will report directly to the Head of Public Affairs.

Candidate Profile

You hold a Master's or PhD in fields such as Technology and Innovation Management, International Law, Physics, or other relevant disciplines, and possess approximately 3 years of proven experience in standardization and project management.

You have a solid understanding of the decision-making processes involved in developing various types of standards (harmonized, voluntary, industrial, etc.) at national, European, and global levels.
Additionally, you are knowledgeable about public policies related to the advancement and implementation of quantum technologies, their interconnections with other digital policies, and their potential sectoral impacts.

You possess:

  • Exceptional negotiation, listening, and communication abilities.
  • Experience in translating complex policies for diverse audiences.
  • The capability to communicate, present, and influence at all organizational levels, establishing strong, enduring relationships.
  • Experience in leading both international and national groups.
  • A self-motivated attitude, team-oriented spirit, strategic mindset, and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in both English and French

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a startup environment.
  • A deep understanding of the geopolitical implications of standardization.
  • Familiarity with quantum computing or sustainability concepts.
