Position Overview:
Selby Jennings, a prominent name in the financial services advisory industry, is on the lookout for an Associate to enhance their Secondary Advisory division. This role will involve close collaboration with diverse deal teams, contributing to ongoing projects and initiatives aimed at business growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Developing informational materials for firms participating in both LP-led and GP-led secondary transactions.
- Performing financial modeling for entities involved in LP-led and GP-led secondary processes, including LBO and DCF analyses, as well as fund-level modeling for sponsor clients.
- Participating in outreach efforts to new investors and buyers during active transactions.
- Preparing presentations and pitches for potential clients.
- Facilitating communication among M&A teams engaged in processes, as well as with the global PCA team.
- Managing transaction processes for live deals.
- Compiling bi-annual updates on the secondary market for external dissemination.
Candidate Expectations:
- A minimum of three years' experience in a leading financial advisory firm or a comparable financial institution.
- Experience in secondaries is preferred but not mandatory; candidates lacking this experience should have conducted prior research into the market.
- Basic skills in financial modeling and presentation development are expected; further training will be provided.
- Demonstrated academic excellence is essential.
- High energy and a strong desire to advance in one's career are crucial.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required.
- A collaborative mindset, with the ability to work effectively within a close-knit team.
- Strong written communication skills, with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
- Robust analytical abilities are necessary.
- Fluency in both French and English is required.
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of professional and ethical conduct, adhering to legal and regulatory requirements.
