POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

FULL-TIME FACILITIES MAINTENANCE COORDINATOR

The Tennessee Board of Regents is in search of a committed and dependable Facilities Maintenance Coordinator to become a vital part of our organization. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring that all facilities are upheld to the highest standards, creating a safe, clean, and efficient atmosphere for students, staff, and visitors. This is a full-time role that includes paid holidays and a comprehensive benefits package.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :

  • High school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
  • Demonstrated experience in facilities management or a related area with a minimum of three years of experience.
  • Fundamental knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, and carpentry.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Physical capability to perform manual tasks, including lifting heavy items and working in diverse environmental conditions.
  • Valid driver's license and dependable transportation are required.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES INCLUDE:

  • Maintenance and Repairs:
    • Execute routine maintenance tasks such as mowing, trimming, and edging lawns.
    • Plant, weed, fertilize, and water plants, flowers, and shrubs.
    • Proficiently operate and maintain grounds maintenance machinery such as mowers, trimmers, and blowers.
    • Promptly address and resolve minor repair issues.
    • Assist in overseeing and coordinating larger repair projects with external contractors.
  • Cleaning and Upkeep:
    • Ensure all facilities, both inside and outside, are clean, sanitary, and well-maintained.
    • Conduct regular inspections and cleaning of classrooms, offices, restrooms, and communal areas.
    • Manage waste disposal and recycling initiatives.
  • Safety and Compliance:
    • Ensure adherence to all safety regulations and building codes.
    • Participate in safety drills and emergency response protocols.
    • Immediately report and address any safety hazards.
  • Event Support:
    • Assist with the setup and breakdown of events and activities, including arranging furniture and equipment.
    • Provide on-site assistance during events to ensure seamless operations.
  • Inventory and Supplies:
    • Monitor and manage the inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment.
    • Order and replenish supplies as necessary.
    • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and inventory.
  • Team Collaboration:
    • Collaborate closely with other facilities personnel and departments to coordinate maintenance activities.
    • Provide support to other staff members as required.
    • Engage in training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.

Travel to various locations is a requirement of this position.

Salary: Commensurate with qualifications, experience, education, and in accordance with the guidelines established by the Tennessee Board of Regents.
