Assistant Professor of Philosophy
Job Summary:The American University of Paris invites applications for a full-time position in the Department of History and Politics at the rank of Assistant Professor, beginning August 2025.
Responsibilities:- Teach courses in the department's philosophy curriculum, including lower-level and upper-level classes.
- Conduct internationally visible research and demonstrate teaching competence in ancient philosophy, broadly defined.
- Teach classes in at least one of the following fields: literature, languages, linguistics, and performance.
- Perform service to the department and the university, including curricular development and promotion, committee work, and assessment.
- Maintain compliance with policies and procedures set out in the Faculty Manual.
The Department of History and Politics at The American University of Paris is dedicated to international and interdisciplinary research, integrating the study of Politics, History, Law, and Philosophy.

Requirements:- PhD degree in philosophy by the time of appointment.
