Job Description:
As a Senior Counsel in our Paris office, you will be part of a professional and international legal team, providing legal advice and support to our clients. Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing qualified legal support and strategic advice to HPE clients
- Assessing legal risks in connection with business transactions
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating various kinds of business agreements and legal documents
- Identifying, analyzing, and resolving complex legal issues with a solution-oriented focus
- Acting as Legal Counsel for France and on a case-by-case basis internationally
- Managing third-party disputes and litigation
- Supporting regulatory and compliance matters, such as anti-corruption, public procurement, and competition law
- Promoting legal awareness and leading legal training to business teams, managers, and team members
- Collaborating seamlessly with the wider legal team outside of France, providing advice and information to other teams
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Master's degree in French law
- 7-10 years of post-qualification commercial legal experience in an international law firm and/or in a legal department of a multinational company
- Ability to translate complex legal or factual issues into plain language communications
- Broad and deep knowledge of local/regional laws, regulations, policies, and procedures
- Fluency in French and English (written and spoken) is mandatory for this role
- Prior experience in IT/IP law is a plus, but not essential
- International legal experience and/or education will be an advantage but is not a pre-requisite
