About the Position

The successful candidate will be part of a research team at INRIA, focusing on the intersection of repeated games and sequential learning. The goal is to develop robust and equitable algorithms for various applications, including cognitive networks, matching algorithms, and prediction algorithms.

Research Axes

The research will be conducted along three main axes:

Axe 1: Asynchronous Continuous Games

The aim is to develop a new mathematical formulation of asynchronicity to obtain simple and robust algorithms for the multi-player bandit problem. This problem has gained significant attention in recent years, particularly in the context of cognitive networks.

Axe 2: Equitable Learning

The research will focus on extending the theory of equitable learning using the Blackwell approachability framework. The goal is to develop sequential prediction algorithms with strong equity guarantees.

Axe 3: Sequential Learning for Matching

The research will investigate sequential learning algorithms for matching problems, with a focus on equitable matching. This area has seen significant growth in recent years, but the notion of equity in matching has not been fully explored.

Requirements

The successful candidate should have a strong background in game theory, sequential learning, and mathematics. A Master's degree in mathematics or applied mathematics is required.
