Overview of the Position
The R&SH Operations Manager plays a crucial role in fulfilling the plant's Compelling Business Need (CBN). This position involves providing leadership, establishing direction, and offering coaching to the plant's workforce. The manager is accountable for the execution of systems and standards, participating in their development as necessary. The role fosters an environment conducive to sustainable outcomes and leverages both internal and external benchmarks to enhance performance. Additionally, the manager contributes to and promotes the reapplication of Best Practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a member of the site leadership team, reporting directly to the site manager.
- Formulate R&SH Site Masterplans that align with Essity's overarching R&SH Strategy.
- Oversee and ensure compliance with R&SH legal requirements.
- Guarantee that Essity's R&SH policies, procedures, and standards are implemented consistently across the site.
- Actively support the shop floor and management team with a hands-on approach.
- Mentor and advise leadership teams, consistently challenging the status quo.
- Cultivate skills and competencies within the R&SH domain.
- Collaborate with other global sites to facilitate the sharing of best practices and actionable insights.
- Lead and develop the local R&SH team.
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in R&SH disciplines or equivalent education and/or relevant work experience.
- Specific qualifications in Health and Safety in accordance with local regulations and practices.
- Extensive experience as a Health and Safety professional within international organizations, preferably in the industrial or process sectors.
- Proven track record in leading and engaging teams while creating a compelling vision.
- High standards of professional and personal integrity, ethics, and a role model for driving change and engagement.
- Ability to navigate complex matrix organizations effectively.
- Strong desire to identify pragmatic and sustainable solutions and deliver results.
