Regional Category Manager for Industrial Equipment

Imerys is seeking a highly skilled Regional Category Manager to join our team. As a key member of our purchasing department, you will be responsible for managing all Capex expenses related to industrial projects in your region.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in purchasing, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in Capex purchasing. You will be responsible for enforcing the Capex purchasing playbook, defining purchasing strategies, and preparing purchasing plans. You will also be the single point of contact for purchasing activities on industrial projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure that all major industrial projects above 250k€ are prepared and executed following the Purchasing playbook.
- Be the single point of contact for purchasing activities on industrial projects.
- Define purchasing strategies in coordination with project managers.
- Prepare purchasing plans in collaboration with project managers and PPMs.
- Perform sourcing of suppliers and challenge technical teams to qualify new suppliers.
- Be proactive in avoiding mono-source situations.
- Prepare and negotiate major Capex contracts.
- Ensure consistency of terms and conditions across the group for the same supplier.
- Support project managers in case of escalation towards suppliers.
- Fulfill savings in the Capex Purchasing tool.
- Develop key regional supplier relationship management and establish performance reviews with strategic suppliers.
- Drive improvement of specifications developed by project managers to reach a standard level within Imerys Group.
- Ensure implementation of the Capex Purchasing Process on industrial projects.
- Ensure achievement of Sustainability KPIs.
- Support proper implementation of transversal excellence programs for your team.
- Support Purchasing Plant Managers on negotiations or claims with suppliers.
- Support/Coach PPMs on Capex projects to help them get familiar with the Capex purchasing process.
Requirements:
- Master's degree in Engineering, Technical, or Business with a purchasing specialization.
- Minimum of 5 years of Capex purchasing experience.
- Experience in a multicultural environment.
- Ability to manage several projects in parallel.
- Experience in a continuous improvement environment with a track record of achieving significant year-over-year results.
- Result-oriented.
- Fluent in English and another language (French, German, Spanish, Dutch, Italian, Portuguese, or Chinese).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytic and negotiation skills.
