Our Engineering DepartmentThe Bureau of Technology (BoT) is the backbone of Back Market, comprising over 30 product teams that develop and manage services to deliver significant value to customers and suppliers. Our Platform group supports these teams, addressing cross-cutting technical issues to enhance operational capabilities.
About the RoleWe are seeking a Data Engineering Manager to lead our Data Platform squad within the Platform division. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for mentoring and coaching team members, cultivating a collaborative environment, and driving technical excellence.
Main Responsibilities- Lead a team of 10 engineers in delivering high-quality software that meets customer and seller needs
- Collaborate with product groups and other tribes to align the team with company objectives and initiatives
- Develop and implement processes to ensure team growth and development
- Establish open communication and a culture of feedback within the team
- Work in an agile environment, building, launching, monitoring, and supporting services owned by the team
- Identify and implement improvements in processes, practices, and products
- Support teams in increasing delivery proficiency by creating a learning environment
- Experience in growing, developing, and guiding people
- Openness to receiving and giving feedback in a safe workplace
- Interest in working in an environment where leaders support their teams to do great work
- Enthusiasm about reaching new levels of effectiveness and quality
- Background as an individual contributor and willingness to help when the team needs it
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English
- Excitement to learn about the industry and the impact on customers and the world
- Ability to understand technical challenges and guide the team through decisions
- Experience working in agile development teams with knowledge of our technology stack
- Past experience in finance or payment would be a strong asset
