Role: Project Manager for Electrical and Automation Engineering
Business Area: Industrial Operations with 80 sites in 22 countries, 3700 employees, and €1.2 billion revenue. Capital expenditures are approximately €70 million per year.
The Electrical and Automation Engineer is a key member of the Center of Expertise team, supporting industrial project managers by leading the electrical and automation engineering aspects of projects.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop electrical and automation designs for projects under the project manager's responsibility.
- Collaborate with project managers to establish project cost estimates for the electrical and automation components.
- Ensure designs comply with Imerys standards, safety protocols, local regulations, and local requirements/constraints.
- Optimize designs for safety, operability, scheduling, long-term evolution, and costs.
- Establish technical scopes and specifications to meet project requirements, participate in procurement activities with the purchasing team.
- Analyze and assess technical offers, provide recommendations on supplier selection.
- Manage project execution, oversee on-site works, lead reviews, factory and site acceptance tests.
- Lead commissioning phases of the electrical and automation components with local teams.
- Monitor costs against project budgets in alignment with project managers.
- Provide feedback, reports, and ad-hoc documentation.
- Train local teams.
Travel: Up to 40% in Europe for energy assessments.
Location: Any Imerys location in Europe, preferably near transportation facilities.
Key Interfaces:Center of Expertise, Operations, IT, Purchasing, EHS, contractors.
Accountability:- Safety on all projects under responsibility.
- Compliance with electrical standards.
- Project delivery on time, within budget, and at expected performance.
- Key Competencies
- Electrical engineering background.
- High knowledge in industrial automation systems - 4.0 skills a plus.
- High knowledge in electrical codes and standards.
- Project management skills.
- Comfortable in a multinational environment.
- Continuous Improvement mindset - Focused on targets - Flexible - Team player.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Languages: Fluent spoken and written English, plus another language.
- Electrical/Automation projects at medium/small scale.
- 10 years of experience managing automation and electrical engineering activities in an industrial environment.
Project electrical engineer, Plant electrical maintenance engineer.
Position Type: Full-time and Permanent.
