Job Overview
As a pivotal leader in software engineering, you will oversee one or multiple software initiatives. Your role will involve close collaboration with developers, software architects, and technology group leaders to guarantee the successful development and upkeep of the final product solution, with a strong emphasis on performance, quality, budget, and timeline constraints. You will engage with both local and remote teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Establish timelines, allocate tasks, and ensure software project objectives are met. Manage all phases of software development, adhering to either V-cycle or agile methodologies, in accordance with departmental quality processes. Coordinate software project teams effectively. Oversee the integration of software components and elements. Ensure that milestones, deliverable quality, and software development budgets are maintained. Report on software project progress using relevant KPIs. Maintain technical communication and relationships with clients. Participate in the development of software specifications. Engage in decision-making regarding architectural alternatives, ensuring alignment with other disciplines (Hardware, Cybersecurity, Safety, System, and IVVQ). May contribute to software code implementation (design, coding, reviews, static & dynamic unit testing, integration testing). Development may be subject to functional safety requirements (ISO standards), Cybersecurity features (ISO standards), and development process standards (ASPICE).Qualifications:
Educational Background:
Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Embedded Software Development, or a related field.Experience:
At least 7 years of experience in embedded real-time software development for electronic control units. Minimum of 3 years of experience in developing low-level embedded software (BSP) under real-time constraints. At least 3 years of experience as an Embedded Software Project Leader.Required Skills:
Proven experience in software project management, ensuring adherence to delivery schedules, development efforts/budgets, and software quality. Experience leading functional teams. Proficiency in C programming language, particularly in embedded and real-time contexts. Familiarity with 32-bit microcontroller architecture and development of low-level software (BSP - Microcontroller/Hardware drivers, preemptive OS environments). Expertise in embedded real-time software, considering constraints related to interruptions, CPU load, and limited microcontroller resources. Experience with process-constrained development, integrating configuration management, change management, traceability management, design rules, and quality gates. Knowledge of configuration/change/requirement management tools such as GIT, SVN, JIRA, Doors, and Reqtify.
