Altair Engineering France, a subsidiary of Altair Engineering, a leading global provider of scientific software for engineers, is seeking a PhD researcher to join our R&D team. As a PhD researcher, you will work on developing the SimLab PE software, a solver based on the integral volume circuit method (VIM circuit), to analyze the electromagnetic behavior of power electronics devices.
Job Description:We are looking for a highly motivated and skilled PhD researcher to join our team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in electromagnetism, mathematics, and programming (Java, C++). The PhD researcher will work on two main objectives:
- Improving the adaptive meshing procedure to consider capacititive effects and extend it to dielectric and magnetic materials.
- Developing a new algorithm for solving the Kirchhoff system of equations for non-structured PEEC schemes.
The PhD researcher will work in a multidisciplinary team following the Agile methodology and will benefit from a stimulating work environment, collaborative and autonomous. The collaboration between the G2ELab laboratory and Altair Engineering allows for the production of advanced methods and tools recognized worldwide for the design of electrical engineering devices. The PhD thesis will contribute to the development of the SimLab PE software and will be supervised by experienced researchers.
Requirements:- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
- Strong background in electromagnetism, mathematics, and programming (Java, C++).
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Fluency in English (spoken and written).
- Salary: 32k€ brut per year.
