Job Title: ESG Sector Analyst

About the Role

Candriam is seeking a highly skilled ESG Sector Analyst to join our team. As an ESG Analyst, you will play a critical role in conducting research on corporate issuers and contributing to the development of our ESG Analysis and Rating framework.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth research on corporate issuers to identify ESG risks and opportunities, utilizing Candriam's proprietary ESG analysis methodology.
  • Collaborate with the Stewardship Team to engage with corporate issuers on ESG topics and develop collaborative initiatives.
  • Work closely with fellow analysts to assess the materiality of ESG factors on corporate issuers' long-term value.
  • Conduct research on ESG-related topics, identify trends, and support thought leadership research both internally and externally.
  • Develop and publish ESG articles, reports, and presentations on Candriam's ESG process and thematic issues.

Requirements

  • Master's degree.
  • Good understanding of finance, which can be acquired through experience.
  • Understanding of and experience in sustainable investing is preferred.
  • 3-5 years of expertise in ESG Research and/or financial analysis at an asset manager, investment bank, or other financial institution.
  • Strong interest in and basic understanding of ESG topics and their relevance for financial market analysis, valuation, and risk modeling in equity and fixed income.
  • Excellent team player with strong writing and communication skills.
  • High level of energy, problem-solving skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Aptitude for working with and manipulating data for analysis.
  • Native speaker or highly proficient in English or French.
