Barrington James is seeking a highly skilled Senior Quantum Algorithm Researcher to join our team and lead the development of fault-tolerant quantum algorithms. As a key member of our research team, you will be responsible for creating and refining advanced quantum algorithms and error-correction protocols, overseeing simulations, and collaborating with partners to drive forward quantum computing solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement fault-tolerant quantum algorithms and error-correction protocols to improve the accuracy and efficiency of quantum computing systems.
  • Oversee and conduct simulations to validate the performance and reliability of these advanced techniques.
  • Collaborate with hardware providers, software developers, and research institutions to drive the development of quantum computing solutions.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior researchers and students involved in the projects.
  • Share research outcomes in prestigious journals and at major conferences.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest breakthroughs in quantum computing and quantum chemistry.

Requirements:

  • Ph.D. in Quantum Computing or a closely related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in the quantum computing sector.
  • Experience creating fault-tolerant algorithms and performing resource estimation.
  • Expertise in developing quantum algorithms for chemical applications, including techniques like quantum phase estimation.
  • Strong programming skills, especially in Python, and familiarity with quantum computing frameworks (e.g., Qiskit, Cirq, OpenFermion).
  • History of publishing high-quality scientific research.
  • Proven capability to work independently and lead junior colleagues and students.
