Lead Quantum Computing Researcher

Qubit Pharmaceuticals is seeking a highly skilled Senior Researcher to lead our project on fault-tolerant quantum computing applications. As a key member of our research team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing fault-tolerant quantum algorithms and error-correction protocols.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and Lead Fault-Tolerant Quantum Algorithms: Design and implement novel fault-tolerant quantum algorithms and error-correction protocols to ensure the reliability and accuracy of our quantum computing systems.
- Conduct and Oversee Simulations: Conduct detailed simulations to validate the developed techniques and ensure their effectiveness in real-world applications.
- Collaborate with Interdisciplinary Teams: Work closely with hardware providers, software developers, and research institutions to integrate our quantum computing systems with existing infrastructure.
- Mentor Junior Researchers: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior researchers and students involved in the project, helping them to develop their skills and expertise.
- Publish Research Findings: Publish research findings in high-impact journals and present at conferences to share our advancements with the scientific community.
- Stay Up-to-Date with Industry Advancements: Stay current with the latest developments in quantum computing and quantum chemistry, ensuring our research remains at the forefront of the field.
- PhD in Quantum Computing or Related Field: A doctoral degree in quantum computing or a related field is required.
- Minimum 5 Years of Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in the quantum computing field is necessary.
- Quantum Computing Background: A strong background in quantum computing, including experience in developing new fault-tolerant algorithms and performing resource estimation.
- Development of Quantum Algorithms: Experience in developing quantum algorithms for chemistry applications, with a strong knowledge of universal techniques such as quantum phase estimation.
- Classical Numerical Methods and Quantum Chemistry: Good knowledge of classical numerical methods and theory of quantum chemistry, including molecular orbitals theory, variational methods, and perturbation theory.
- Programming Skills: Strong programming skills in Python, with familiarity with quantum computing frameworks such as Qiskit, Cirq, or OpenFermion.
- Published Research: A strong track record of publishing high-quality scientific research.
- Independent Work and Supervision: Experience in independent work and supervising junior colleagues or students.
