Role Overview:
The Corporate Sector Financing division is a pivotal unit within ING Wholesale Banking, tasked with overseeing all lending-related activities for our corporate clientele. Our Paris office caters to French-based corporations with revenues exceeding €1 billion across various industries, managing lending transactions executed in France and through ING's extensive global network. In partnership with other key stakeholders, including Sector Coverage, Capital Markets & Advisory, and Sustainable Finance teams, we aim to differentiate ING by leveraging Sector Expertise, championing Sustainability, and merging Global Reach with Local Insight. ING France is committed to an ambitious growth strategy to enhance its corporate client portfolio, necessitating an expansion of our corporate financing capabilities.
Department Insights:
Our Transaction Managers are accountable for:
- Providing expert advice to clients on all lending matters, including structuring and documentation, in collaboration with our Loan Syndications and Sustainable Finance teams.
- Negotiating loan agreements in conjunction with our Legal department.
- Crafting and presenting credit proposals for new transactions and periodic reviews to the relevant commercial and credit risk committees.
- Evaluating the internal credit ratings of our clients.
- Ensuring all lending activities comply with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Senior Transaction Manager, you will collaborate closely with Senior Bankers to originate and execute lending transactions seamlessly. You will also oversee your client portfolio throughout the lifecycle of the lending agreements. Your responsibilities include:
- Contributing to client meetings and developing marketing materials, including presentations and financial models.
- Preparing credit proposals and advocating for their approval with credit risk management and decision-makers.
- Engaging with clients as part of the deal team to gather essential information regarding strategy, financial performance, industry trends, and ESG considerations.
- Continuously enhancing your knowledge of lending products, ING policies, and the external landscape, including relevant industry trends and macroeconomic factors.
- With support from our central service hub, preparing rating proposals and defending them to credit risk management.
Candidate Profile:
We seek to enrich our team with a motivated collaborator possessing over 7 years of experience in the financial sector, who demonstrates:
- Proven experience in originating and executing lending transactions for both investment-grade and sub-investment-grade rated corporate clients.
- Expertise in negotiating and structuring transactions with intricate documentation.
- A curious mindset and a desire to develop sector expertise in partnership with our Sector Coverage department.
- A collaborative spirit, showcasing genuine enthusiasm for the banking industry.
- The ability to work diligently and effectively under tight deadlines while fostering teamwork and a customer-centric approach.
- A Master's degree from a recognized university or business school specializing in Finance.
- Proficiency in both French and English, both spoken and written.
- Exceptional writing abilities and the capacity to produce concise analyses and recommendations across various credit profiles, sectors, and markets.
- Strong quantitative skills for preparing and maintaining cash flow models in Excel, coupled with rigorous financial analysis capabilities.
