Philosophy Professor

We are seeking a highly qualified and motivated Assistant Professor of Philosophy to join our Department of History and Politics. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching a range of courses in philosophy, including ancient philosophy, theoretical philosophy, and comparative literature and English.
Key Responsibilities:- Teach six courses per academic year, including courses in support of the university's first-year experience
- Develop and teach courses in the department's philosophy curriculum
- Engage in academic advising and mentoring of students
- Participate in service to the department and the university, including committee work and interdisciplinary collaboration
- Contribute to the development of the university's liberal arts education program
- PhD degree in philosophy by the time of appointment
- Internationally visible research and teaching competence in ancient philosophy and theoretical philosophy
- Ability to teach classes in literature, languages, linguistics, and performance
- Commitment to liberal arts education in a highly international environment
