Position: Senior Fluid Systems Engineer at Framatome

This role encompasses the responsibilities of a Fluid Systems Engineer within the SCV Service at Framatome, specifically for the EPR2 initiative. The SCV service is dedicated to the design and development of fluid systems, comprising a team of 420 professionals across various locations. The EPR2 initiative focuses on creating an advanced model of a generation 3 nuclear reactor, enhancing the existing EPR design. The Basic Design phase aims to optimize costs and reduce construction timelines through three primary strategies:

  • Innovative design modifications and technical enhancements,
  • Implementation of industrialization and standardization for equipment,
  • Adoption of new engineering methodologies (System Engineering).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting comprehensive system design analyses,
  • Gathering and integrating safety, regulatory, and operational requirements to formulate the system architecture,
  • Designing the system as a hydraulic and thermal circuit,
  • Specifying system components and equipment,
  • Developing functional validation specifications and control-command procedures,
  • Managing technical studies and related modifications,
  • Addressing unresolved issues,
  • Producing relevant documentation: system documentation for control room use, interface sheets with other systems, sizing notes, and operational diagrams.
  • Engaging in licensing activities:
  • Drafting system sections of the Safety Report,
  • Collaborating with Safety Authorities.

Qualifications:

Essential and technical competencies required:

  • Master's degree (BAC+5) in fluid mechanics, hydraulics, thermal engineering, process engineering, or energy.
  • Proven experience in the nuclear engineering sector.
  • Understanding of nuclear power plant operations.
