Mission Overview

The design center within the Instrumentation & Control (I&C) Business Unit at Framatome is dedicated to the development of control-command systems for EPR reactors, as well as the modernization of existing systems both domestically and internationally. These systems are characterized by their complexity, distribution, and real-time software capabilities. You will be a vital part of the team focusing on the comprehensive control-command architecture for the EPR2 initiative, operating under the auspices of EDVANCE.

In collaboration with the system architect, your responsibilities will encompass a range of architectural activities across various control-command systems involved in the EPR2 project. Key tasks include:

  • Assessing regulatory and contractual requirements and effectively communicating them to design teams
  • Identifying control points to ensure these requirements are integrated throughout the system lifecycle
  • Drafting architecture documentation
  • Creating methodology reports related to design and modification processes
  • Developing design justification documentation
  • Overseeing system interfaces and engaging in design reviews to ensure compliance with specific supplier requirements
  • Monitoring supplier deliverables
  • Managing configuration
  • Preparing for Gate Reviews as part of the system engineering deployment
  • Conducting sizing or feasibility analyses for control-command developments

You will collaborate with various project architects (I&C, electro-mechanical systems, buildings) and other key stakeholders throughout the development cycle (human factors, cybersecurity, commissioning, safety authorities, operators, etc.) to ensure that product design justifications are comprehensive and consider all project constraints within a systems engineering framework using PLM.

Candidate Profile

Applicants should possess a degree from a general engineering school or an equivalent university program, ideally with a focus on automation and/or industrial computing, or have equivalent professional experience. A robust background in control-command systems within highly regulated sectors (such as aerospace, rail, or defense) is essential. Familiarity with automation architectures and expertise in the control-command system development lifecycle is required. Knowledge of relevant standards, particularly those pertaining to nuclear system design, is advantageous.

Strong writing skills in both French and English, coupled with an analytical mindset and meticulous attention to detail, are essential for this role. Proficiency in operational English is mandatory. Occasional travel may be necessary depending on the phases of system development.
