Water Treatment Engineering Lead
This role can be performed remotely from various locations.
Role Purpose
The Water Treatment Engineering Lead is responsible for supervising a team of application and commercial engineers, guiding our expanding Assets Service Business.
You will be part of a rapidly growing sector within Veolia, presenting significant growth opportunities in the future. If you are enthusiastic about contributing to a dynamic area of the business, this position is an excellent fit for you.
In your daily activities, you will oversee a team of six design and proposal engineers, ensuring timely and effective proposal submissions. You will be accountable for crafting water treatment process designs, developing design flowsheets primarily based on existing fleet assets, proposals, and other client-facing documentation. This role also involves cost modeling, financial deal analysis, and creating innovative value propositions to set our offerings apart from competitors.
The team engages in a variety of projects and tasks, ranging from emergency responses to routine operations and complex projects utilizing multiple technologies. Our solutions encompass Filtration, Ultrafiltration, Reverse Osmosis, Electrodeionization, Ion Exchange, and more. Additionally, we specialize in designing and proposing long-term contractual arrangements with Veolia-operated water treatment facilities based on mobile or containerized units.

Key Responsibilities:
Application Engineering / Commercial Engineering:- Design and enhance processes for emergency or interim water solutions, ensuring operational efficiency.
- Identify and allocate suitable fleet resources to fulfill project needs.
- Conduct comprehensive analyses and optimize scopes to meet customer requirements.
- Develop detailed cost sheets, considering all relevant factors to ensure profitability.
- Identify and address project risks promptly and effectively.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with sales managers to align on project specifications.
- Coordinate with service centers and regional teams to ensure efficient resource distribution and project execution.
- Maintain open communication and strong relationships with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Promote knowledge sharing and the adoption of best practices across the organization.
Team Leadership:
- Lead, inspire, and mentor a team of application engineers.
- Cultivate a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
- Assign tasks, monitor progress, and provide support.
- Conduct performance assessments, identify training needs, and recognize development opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with project timelines, EHS standards, and quality benchmarks.
- Foster a positive team culture in alignment with Veolia's values and ecological transformation objectives.
Qualifications
Desired Background and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- Significant experience in a water-related sector or equivalent expertise.
- Skills in project management and team leadership.
- Proven ability to manage complex projects from inception to successful completion.
- Strong commercial insight and experience in proposal development, contract negotiations, and client interactions.
- Proficient in managing disruptions and transformational changes.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Fluency in both French and English (written and spoken).
- Proficient in project management software and tools.
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently within the region.
