Datadog's Real User Monitoring (RUM) provides unparalleled visibility into the real-time activity and experience of individual users across web and mobile applications.
This includes application performance, error management, and analytics & user insights.
RUM is experiencing rapid growth, with increasing customer adoption, feature development, and team expansion.
As an Engineering Manager on the Mobile SDKs team, you will lead the development of cutting-edge SDKs for Android, iOS, React Native, Flutter, and Unity, impacting millions of users across major organizations.
You will identify performance bottlenecks and improve web optimization, working closely with product, design, frontend, and backend teams.
The ideal candidate is a software engineer at heart with previous experience leading software engineering teams, as a tech lead or people manager.
They should have excellent leadership skills, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to build and lead high-performing teams.
The successful candidate will have a track record of delivering high-quality software products on schedule and collaborating closely with product partners.
They should be skilled in one of Java/Kotlin, Objective-C/Swift, or multi-platform frameworks targeting mobile (Unity, Flutter, React Native).
Experience in building packages or tooling for developers to use in production is a plus.
Responsibilities- Manage and grow the Mobile SDK teams, directly managing 6-8 engineers across 2-3 domains
- Define the technical roadmap in alignment with product goals and the frontend and backend teams
- Work directly with partner teams such as Application Performance Monitoring, Product Analytics, and Error Tracking to define the client-side experience of Datadog
- Create a strong team culture aligned with our engineering standards and our customer focus
- Participate in hands-on work: Code reviews, design reviews, and some coding
