Within the Global Energy Management & Sales division, the Human Resources Expertise Center operates as a vital entity focused on enhancing personnel, teams, and organizational growth through three primary objectives:
- Anticipating and proactively managing future business requirements and resources
- Fostering individual and team development while promoting transformative managerial practices
- Driving cultural evolution and facilitating collaboration and accountability
Key Responsibilities
Leveraging your credibility within the business, you will grasp the critical elements of:
- GEMS's Business Platforms (BP)
- The dynamics of teams and individuals within the Expertise Centers (EC) to ensure operational efficiency
The HR Business Partner role within GEMS integrates HR strategy with operational execution across a defined scope. This entails:
- A comprehensive understanding of GEMS's business activities, value creation drivers, financial objectives, and market context
- Insights into the necessary skills, values, and incentives to enhance employee contributions to GEMS's outcomes, personal growth, and overall well-being
- Challenge, advise, and coach managers on effective employee engagement, capability building, and resolution of personnel challenges
- Assist the business in managing HR processes
- Provide guidance on and implement change initiatives and organizational design, including restructuring, while adhering to ENGIE policies and GEMS guidelines
- Ensure accurate data and process recording to maintain relevant and current Management Information
Recruitment
Develop a recruitment strategy based on headcount budgets and associated costs, outlining mobility actions, retention strategies, and succession planning.
Monitor headcount budgets, oversee recruitment, and provide individual support for career (re)orientation and identification of at-risk personnel.
Competency Development
Define the essential skill sets required for various roles, identify future skill needs, and establish necessary development actions.
Assess employee competencies against minimum requirements and identify skill gaps to meet future demands.
Career Development
Identify potential future leaders, managers, and experts.
Conduct professional and career discussions with staff, mapping expectations and potential challenges.
Compensation
Ensure competitive package benchmarking with peer organizations for respective business areas, maintaining coherence within teams.
Support managers in the Salary Review process, ensuring adherence to guidelines and consistency. Manage remuneration requests in line with C&B policies.
Team Dynamics
Instill GEMS's values and desired behaviors within teams to enhance their operational capacity.
Facilitate and monitor initiatives that embed GEMS's values and behaviors in teams. Organize team sessions to strengthen their effectiveness.
Performance Management
Establish guidelines for aligning objectives from BP/EC levels down to team and individual levels; promote a culture of continuous feedback.
Ensure all teams and GEMS employees have established objectives. Oversee performance reviews and guide managers through the People and Position Review (PPR) process.
HR Tools
Provide the HR Tools team with relevant business feedback to enhance HR management autonomy for managers.
Implement HR tools with managers and ensure data accuracy.
Employee Well-being
Maintain oversight of well-being initiatives for your teams.
Organize well-being activities and support individual cases.
In your role, you will contribute to the enhancement of GEMS's HR processes by relaying pertinent field information to the HR expert teams in the EC. You will collaborate with HR expert teams to develop your specific action plan for deployment within the EC/BP.
You will ensure effective communication with fellow business partners, keeping them informed of insights and outcomes from your daily interactions with teams and personnel, sharing results from various processes (e.g., PPR, Performance Measurement, L&D campaigns, Salary Review, career discussions, etc.) to facilitate necessary actions at the EC/BP level.
For the GEMS country platforms (outside France/Belgium), you will work closely with local HR teams, building strong relationships with HR stakeholders who provide daily support for HR operational processes. You will act as a strategic partner, contributing to the overall development of the international business in alignment with GEMS policies, processes, and governance while providing HR functional expertise to various teams and offering HR leadership in accordance with the Engie Leadership framework.
Qualifications
Master's degree in Human Resources Management with a strong inclination towards business topics; alternatively, a Master's degree in Economics, Finance, or Business Administration combined with a demonstrated focus on people management and knowledge of social law fundamentals.
Over 7 years of experience in the energy or banking sector in relevant roles.
