Senior Marine Asset Coordinator

POSITION SUMMARY
- This role is part of the Global Project Centre's Supply Chain Management team.
- Involves the chartering of marine and transportation assets to support project execution.
- Accountable for engaging with the market prior to contract awards, selecting suppliers, negotiating terms, placing contracts, and managing post-award activities throughout the project lifecycle.
- Contributes to tender processes through market consultations and engagement.
- This is a staff position based in our office.
- Engages with suppliers to conduct market assessments and issue inquiries.
- Performs commercial evaluations, standardization, and analysis of supplier offers.
- Prepares bid summaries and presents findings to internal stakeholders.
- Facilitates and coordinates technical evaluations with relevant internal teams.
- Leads negotiations with chosen suppliers prior to contract awards and oversees the placement of Charter Party agreements.
- Manages post-award activities of Charter Parties, including issuing contract amendments and serving as the primary contact between suppliers and internal teams until contract completion.
- Collaborates proactively with internal stakeholders to ensure clear communication and understanding of contractual obligations.
- Maintains awareness of key project timelines and collaborates regularly with essential project stakeholders.
- Responsible for reviewing and approving invoices related to charter party agreements.
- Tracks costs associated with each charter party against the approved budget.
- Ensures timely closure of Charter Parties upon project completion.
- Maintains strong supplier relationships during both pre-award and post-award chartering activities.
- Continuously seeks to optimize cost, quality, and scheduling related to chartering functions.
- Degree or qualification in Maritime Business or Maritime Law.
- Experience with BIMCO charter parties, particularly Supply Time, Heavycon, Bargehire, and GENCON.
- Relevant experience in a similar role with an owner, broker, or charterer.
- Strong skills in contracting and negotiation.
- Excellent communication abilities.
- Adept at managing multiple, complex requests.
- Ability to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong analytical capabilities.
- Creative problem-solving skills, with the ability to propose and implement innovative methods.
- Effective communication skills, capable of conveying ideas and results to various stakeholders through written reports and presentations.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment as well as independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple work packages simultaneously.
- Understanding of client needs and the ability to propose suitable solutions.
