POSITION SUMMARY
- This role is situated within the Global Project Centre's Supply Chain Management team.
- Focuses on the chartering of marine and transportation assets to facilitate project needs.
- Accountable for engaging with the market prior to contract awards, selecting suppliers, negotiating terms, and managing contracts post-award.
- Provides support for tenders through market engagement and consultation.
- This is a staff position based in our Suresnes, France office.
- Engages with suppliers to conduct market assessments and issue inquiries.
- Conducts commercial evaluations, standardization, and analysis of supplier offers.
- Prepares bid summaries and presents findings to internal stakeholders.
- Coordinates technical evaluations with relevant internal functions and stakeholders.
- Leads negotiations with selected suppliers prior to contract awards and during the establishment of Charter Party agreements.
- Oversees the management of Charter Party contracts post-award, including any necessary amendments, while serving as the primary contact between suppliers and internal stakeholders until contract completion.
- Proactively collaborates with internal teams to ensure all contractual obligations are communicated and understood.
- Maintains awareness of key project timelines and collaborates regularly with project stakeholders.
- Responsible for reviewing and approving invoices related to charter party agreements.
- Tracks costs associated with each charter party against the approved budget.
- Ensures timely closure of Charter Party agreements upon project completion.
- Maintains strong supplier relationships throughout the chartering process.
- Continuously seeks to optimize cost, quality, and scheduling related to chartering activities.
- Degree or qualification in Maritime Business or Maritime Law.
- Experience with BIMCO charter parties, particularly Supply Time, Heavycon, Bargehire, and GENCON.
- Relevant experience in a similar role with an owner, broker, or charterer.
- Strong skills in contracting and negotiation.
- Excellent communication abilities.
- Adept at managing multiple and complex requests.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong analytical capabilities.
- Creative problem-solving skills, with the ability to propose and implement new methods and processes.
- Effective communication skills, capable of conveying ideas and results to various stakeholders through written reports and presentations.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple work packages simultaneously.
- Understanding of client needs and the ability to propose suitable solutions.
