Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Communications Specialist to join our team in the Earth Sciences and Geoparks Section. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting key outreach initiatives, managing media and digital campaigns, and developing strategic communication objectives to enhance the impact and engagement of UNESCO's Earth Sciences and Geoparks Section.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement effective communication strategies to promote UNESCO's Earth Sciences and Geoparks Section;
- Manage social media campaigns to increase online presence and engagement;
- Create engaging content, including articles, social media posts, and videos, to highlight successful projects and achievements;
- Coordinate with stakeholders, including programme beneficiaries and partners, to develop collaborative content;
- Plan and deliver diverse content, including articles, social media posts, and videos, in accordance with communications strategy;
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Communications, Media Studies, or Humanities;
- Experience in an international organization is considered an asset;
- Strong technical skills, including proficiency in digital content management systems, social media platforms, and podcast and video production tools;
- Excellent written and editing skills in English;
- Additional proficiency in French or other UN languages is an asset;
- Competitive salary: $65,000 - $80,000 per annum;
