Job Description

We are seeking a Ph.D. student in Physical Chemistry/Electrochemistry/Chemical Engineering to join our team at John Cockerill Hydrogen. This thesis will be a CIFRE collaboration between John Cockerill and the LEMTA laboratory at the University of Lorraine.

Main Responsibilities
  • Investigate and enhance specific mechanisms within pressurized alkaline electrolyzers, focusing on mass, heat, and charge transfer phenomena.
  • Develop and implement physical models of the electrolyzer.
  • Establish testing protocols for experiments and analyze data.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports and participate in meetings and conferences.
  • Contribute to the development and safeguarding of intellectual property.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for communication with researchers and engineers at John Cockerill and the LEMTA laboratory.
Requirements
  • Engineer or Master2 in Chemistry/Physical chemistry/Chemical engineering.
  • Good skills in physical/chemical modeling and coding.
  • Previous experience with fuel cells/electrolyzers/flow batteries is an asset.
  • Basic knowledge in fluid mechanics and thermodynamics.
  • Capacity for teamwork and proficiency in written and oral communication in French and English.
