The International Potato Center (CIP) is seeking a highly skilled Project Budget and Compliance Specialist to oversee the financial management of CIP projects globally.
Key Responsibilities:- Monitor funding trends and manage capacity to ensure compliance and delivery of financial services to projects.
- Monitor all financial aspects according to agreements, IFRS, and donor guidelines, including proposal budgets, project setup, invoice preparation, financial reports to donors, and maintenance of agreement master files.
- Work with project teams to ensure donor-related information is disseminated and abide by donor rules and regulations.
- Maintain relationships with donors and prepare reports as necessary, ensuring compliance with agreement terms and conditions.
- Monitor compliance in projects, including project audit reports and general financial and contracts issues.
- Develop policies and procedures related to project accounting and financial management, as well as contribute to those related to grants and contracts management.
- Monitor portfolio health, including recovery of indirect costs, potential risks, and exchange rate adjustments.
- Prepare and submit timely and accurate donor reports, requesting necessary invoices and staying current with donor regulations.
- Maintain all applicable project records and files in accordance with internal controls and donor requirements.

- Bachelor's degree in business administration, financial management, operations, or related field.
- At least 6 years of professional experience.
- Knowledge of international development funding (desirable).
- Aptitude for understanding complex regulations and monitoring financial transactions and documentation for compliance.
- Strong knowledge of Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) guidelines and BMGF projects implementation.
- Strong knowledge with USAID projects, FAR and ADS rules and regulations, and OMB Circulars.
- Accounting software packages (ERP preferable).
- Proficient in MS Office, especially in Excel.
