Network Security Validation Engineer

Job Summary:

Fortinet is seeking a highly skilled Network Security Validation Engineer to join our EMEA Customer Readiness Testing team in Sophia Antipolis. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for validating the security of our products in a real-world environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analysis of Customer Information: Gather and analyze customer information, including Fortinet device configuration and monitoring details, to identify potential security risks.
  • System Under Test Provisioning: Provision and commission the System Under Test to reproduce the customer environment on CRT Data Center equipment.
  • Traffic Generation: Configure traffic generators to simulate traffic patterns similar to those monitored in customer production environments.
  • Test Scenario Preparation: Prepare test scenarios according to testable requirements.
  • Test Execution and Result Analysis: Execute test cases and gather results, analyzing and investigating problems involving all Fortinet products.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Document all test results in a test report and present to customers at the end of CRT campaigns.
  • Technical Documentation and Bulletins: Create technical documentation and bulletins to improve knowledge base.
  • Process Follow-up: Follow CRT processes for driving the completion of test campaigns.
  • Product Line Development: Develop core competency on Fortinet's product line and technologies.

Requirements:

  • Language Skills: Proficient spoken and written English.
  • Networking Protocols: Strong understanding of data networking protocols, specifically TCP/IP, routing, and switching.
  • Security Products: Experience with security products, firewalls, IPsec, IDS/IPS, Anti-Spam, and virus scanning.
  • Operating Systems: Administrator-level working knowledge of Windows, Linux, or Unix.
  • Web Application Concepts: Good understanding of web application concepts, security, and vulnerabilities.
  • Fortinet Products: Work experience with Fortinet products an advantage.
  • Communication Skills: Positive, communicative, and customer-oriented attitude.
  • Cultural Competence: Ability to work in a multicultural team environment.
  • Software Testing: General knowledge of software testing an advantage.
  • Scripting Knowledge: Scripting knowledge an advantage.

Educational and Experience Requirements:

  • Experience: Four years or more experience in network security (technical support or QA).
  • Education: Graduate of network and security engineering school.
  • Language Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of English (written and spoken), other languages an advantage.
