Senior Expert in Internet Governance and Artificial Intelligence

NTU International A/S is seeking a highly skilled Senior Expert in Internet Governance and Artificial Intelligence to contribute to a groundbreaking EU-funded project, PRIDA Digital Africa II. This initiative aims to empower the African Union (AU) in accelerating the implementation of its Digital Transformation Strategy for Africa (DTS).

As a key member of our expert team, you will play a pivotal role in providing technical assistance to the AU and supporting the successful execution of this transformative project. Your expertise in internet governance and artificial intelligence will be instrumental in shaping the digital landscape of Africa.

Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic guidance and technical support to the AU in implementing its Digital Transformation Strategy for Africa.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies, regulations, and frameworks related to internet governance and artificial intelligence.
  • Facilitate multi-stakeholder dialogues and consultations on key issues related to digital transformation in Africa.
  • Conduct research and analysis on emerging trends and best practices in internet governance and artificial intelligence.
  • Develop training materials and capacity-building programs for various stakeholders, including government agencies, civil society organizations, and the private sector.
Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Information Technology, Telecommunications, Computer Science, Public Policy, Emerging Technologies, or a related field. Equivalent professional experience of at least 5 years may be considered.
  • Advanced proficiency in English or French (at least C1 level). Fluency in other official languages of the AU is highly desirable.
  • Deep understanding of the African digital landscape, including the AU's Digital Transformation Strategy for Africa.
  • Proven experience in project management, including planning, execution, and monitoring.
  • Extensive knowledge of global governance organizations and forums (IGFs), digital & data governance processes, and forums.
  • Familiarity with emerging technologies, particularly artificial intelligence and its regulatory implications.
General Experience

Minimum 10 years of experience in the field of ICT policy and regulation, digital markets, and emerging technologies.

Experience working with government agencies, regulatory bodies, or international organizations related to ICT.

Proven track record of collaborating with international stakeholders and governments, preferably in Africa.

Specific Experience

Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in the Internet Governance domain, including developing training materials and online content for capacity building across various stakeholder groups (government, civil society, private sector, and academia).

Experience in developing and implementing digital market-related policies, legislation, and regulations.

Expertise in establishing multi-stakeholder structures at national and regional levels, with a specific focus on Africa.

Experience in the Artificial Intelligence field is highly advantageous.
