Position Summary

As the Compensation and Benefits Supervisor, you will oversee the accurate and timely processing of payroll for our esteemed team members. Your primary goal will be to guarantee that all employees receive precise compensation that reflects their hours worked while adhering to all relevant regulations and company policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with guests and staff in a welcoming, service-oriented manner.
  • Maintain consistent attendance in line with company standards, adapting to the hotel's scheduling needs.
  • Uphold high standards of personal grooming and appearance.
  • Ensure compliance with company regulations to promote safe and efficient operations.
  • Oversee all facets of payroll processing on a weekly basis.
  • Manage all statutory reporting requirements.
  • Incorporate Talent & Culture data into payroll processing.
  • Accurately track and calculate vacation entitlements and accruals in accordance with company policy.
  • Ensure legal holiday entitlements and accruals are correctly managed as per collective agreements.
  • Adhere strictly to all Wage & Hour regulations.
  • Prepare payroll-related reports for month-end processing.
  • Timely deduction and submission of garnishments.
  • Communicate with state authorities regarding garnishment requests.
  • Prepare and reconcile payroll tax remittances to ensure compliance with legislation.
  • Familiarize yourself with all financial controls and operational procedures related to payroll.
  • Generate daily labor reports and manage tip report reconciliations.
  • Verify time cards weekly to ensure proper approvals.
  • Prepare payroll summaries and manage online approval processes for payroll reports.
  • Compile overtime reports and verify Employee Action Forms for accuracy.
  • Handle the distribution of payroll checks and process manual checks as needed.
  • Champion the labor management system and facilitate weekly labor meetings.
  • Conduct balance sheet reconciliations related to payroll.
  • Assist with registration for out-of-state employees when necessary.
  • Address employee inquiries and provide timely resolutions.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications

  • College diploma is required.
  • Preferred education in Finance or Payroll programs.
  • Experience in California's payroll systems is essential.
  • Knowledge of California labor laws is necessary.
  • Experience in the hospitality sector is advantageous.
  • A minimum of three years in payroll management and administration is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and advanced knowledge of payroll software is necessary.
  • Ability to work long hours when required.
  • Strong communication skills to convey information clearly.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Attention to detail is critical.
  • Capability to evaluate and select among various courses of action quickly.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Ability to manage stress and high-pressure situations effectively.
  • Problem-solving skills to anticipate and address workplace issues.
  • Ability to assimilate complex information from various sources.
  • Strong listening skills to understand and clarify concerns raised by colleagues.
