Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Embedded Software Development Engineer to join our team at Airbus. As a key member of our Avionics Software department, you will be responsible for developing avionics real-time software for our reusable Critical Operating System DO178 DAL-A deployed on a new Avionics Product Line.

Your primary focus will be on implementing all steps of the development cycle process, including software engineering methods and tools, airworthiness rules, and ensuring trade-offs on technical, business, and industrial goals. You will also be responsible for achieving integration and verification activities with hardware using test means such as probes, bus analyzers, and emulators.

In addition to your technical skills, you will need to have strong communication skills and be able to work effectively in a team environment. You will also be required to participate in software Chamber of Reference activities, such as assessments of Airbus equipment suppliers.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop embedded real-time software following development process from high-level specification analysis to integration and validation on definitive hardware.
  • Value customer needs and challenge them to propose common and reusable solutions.
  • Achieve integration and verification activities with hardware using test means such as probes, bus analyzers, and emulators.
  • Ensure related support activity: failure report analysis, answer to technical requests.
  • Improve ways of working; bring new design solutions and technologies.
  • Define, follow-up, and receipt subcontracted activities and deliverables, in conformity with subcontracting management rules.
  • Manage activities following expected schedule, budget, and quality.
  • Participate to improvement of Department performance.

Your Requirements:

  • Software integration for Embedded Critical Operating System.
  • Low-Layers software skills: Operating system, Computers architecture, Processors architecture.
  • Critical Real-Time embedded software development vs certification (DO178-C, DAL-A).
  • Programming languages: C in embedded context.
  • Multi-Core Power PC architecture.
  • Software engineering methods and tools (standard DEVOPS environment).
  • Open mind-set, good communication skills.
  • Team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Advanced level of English and French required.
