Embedded Software Development Engineer – Software Integration for Real-Time Operating Systems

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Embedded Software Development Engineer to join our team in Toulouse, France. As a key member of our Avionics Software department, you will be responsible for developing and integrating real-time software for our commercial aircraft products.

Your primary focus will be on software integration for our reusable Critical Operating System DO178 DAL-A, deployed on a new Avionics Product Line. You will work closely with our cross-functional teams to ensure the development cycle process meets the required airworthiness rules and technical, business, and industrial goals.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing embedded real-time software following the development process from high-level specification analysis to integration and validation on the definitive hardware.
  • Valuing customer needs and challenging them to propose common and reusable solutions.
  • Achieving integration and verification activities with the hardware using test means such as probes, bus analyzers, and emulators.
  • Ensuring related support activities, including failure report analysis and technical request responses.
  • Improving ways of working, bringing new design solutions, and technologies.
  • Defining, following up, and receiving subcontracted activities and deliverables, in conformity with subcontracting management rules.
  • Managing activities following the expected schedule, budget, and quality.
  • Participating in the improvement of Department performance.

You will also participate in software Chamber of Reference activities, such as assessments of Airbus equipment suppliers.

Your challenges:

In an environment with industrial and certification constraints (DO178B and C, DAL A to C software), you will:

  • Develop embedded real-time software following the development process from high-level specification analysis to integration and validation on the definitive hardware.

  • Critical Real-Time embedded software development vs certification (DO178-C, DAL-A).
  • Programming languages: C in embedded context.
  • Multi-Core Power PC architecture.
  • Software engineering methods and tools (standard DEVOPS environment).
  • Open mind-set, good communication skills.
  • You are recognized for being a team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • An advanced level of English and French is required.
