Project Overview
Imerys is launching a lithium mining project, the EMILI Project, at its Beauvoir site in France. The project aims to produce 34,000 tonnes of lithium hydroxide per year for at least 25 years.
The project schedule includes several stages, including preliminary mine design, process validation, and construction of an industrial/demo pilot plant. The project will be executed in a multinational environment, requiring strong communication and leadership skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide guidance and supervision to engineering and design companies engaged in the project.
- Ensure designs meet project requirements and company objectives.
- Work in a safe manner, complying with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with process and operation teams to define project control systems.
- Ensure design completion as per assigned scope.
- Review and comment on design documents and drawings.
- Estimate, control, and review design scope changes.
- Provide technical guidance to project staff.
- Approve technical adjudications and recommendations.
- Attend shop inspections and factory acceptance tests.
- Assist with plant installation and commissioning.
- Liaise with site construction staff on technical queries.
- Provide timely reports and ensure all correspondence is recorded.
Requirements
- BSc, BEng, or B.Tech in Engineering or National Diploma with a minimum of 10 years' experience.
- Minimum of 10 years' automation design experience in complex industrial installations and large capital projects.
- Highly developed knowledge of industrial automation and electrical systems and codes and norms in the European community.
- Good knowledge of Siemens automation products and Industry 4.0.
- Experience in project planning, execution, management, and communication with all stakeholders in large successful capital projects.
- Extensive experience in working with EPCM automation and electrical engineers.
- Must be knowledgeable about industry best practices.
- Recent experience managing automation and electrical engineering activities in large capital projects.
- Well-developed computer skills and knowledge of word, databases, spreadsheets, and discipline-related application software.
- Site experience – construction and commissioning.
Language and Culture
- English (mandatory), French (preferable).
- Used to working in a multinational environment.
- Experience with projects executed in Europe is preferable.
