About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Business and Commercial Associate. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a global leader in ship management and marine services, driving business transformation and achieving quality and business targets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Business Processes Optimization and Operational Excellence
    • Work closely with management to design, shape, and implement strategic initiatives within our business units.
    • Participate in discussions and decision-making on a strategic and operational level.
    • Manage initiatives end-to-end as a Project Manager:
      • Determine and define project scope and objectives.
      • Predict resources needed to reach objectives and manage resources in an effective and efficient manner.
      • Prepare budget based on scope of work and resource requirements.
      • Track project costs to meet budget.
      • Develop and manage a detailed project schedule and work plan.
      • Provide project updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress.
      • Manage contracts with vendors and suppliers by assigning tasks and communicating expected deliverables.
      • Utilize industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout entire project execution.
      • Monitor progress and make adjustments as needed.
      • Measure project performance to identify areas for improvement.
    • Provide forecasting support, budgeting, operational/financial KPIs, and Business Intelligence dashboard reporting.
    • Support the development, review, and implementation of business strategic planning, including sales, financial performance, and new services/project development.
    • Augment business units with targeted support, providing deeper analytical backup and crafting solutions to improve operational efficiencies.
    • Evaluate business processes, anticipate requirements, uncover areas for improvement, and develop and implement solutions.
    • Support business to design, pilot, and launch new services to increase our offerings, including potential partnerships with external companies.
    • Identify new innovation opportunities and operational efficiencies to drive revenue, margin, and profit growth.
    • Foster and embed a culture of innovation for our people and the organization.
    • Conduct research and data analysis to identify opportunities and support the evaluation of key decisions.
  • Digitalization
    • Drive digital growth by shifting internal processes to our existing ERP cloud solution.
    • Lead a review of processes and technology investments across our portfolio to minimize investment in multiple solutions and focus on investing in consistent solutions applicable to wider services deliverables.
    • Drive consistent, efficient, and effective processes across our organization, working in partnership with key stakeholders.
    • Critically assess the effectiveness of existing similar businesses and recommend future strategies for development and growth, utilizing digital solutions wherever possible.
    • Be an advocate and thought leader for technology and innovation for the company, with particular insight to our organization.

Requirements
  • Essential
    • Master's Degree in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering.
    • Minimum 2 years of work experience in a similar role.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Project Management qualification and proven project management skills for effective planning and successful initiative delivery.
    • Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills to evaluate the business and develop solutions.
    • Ability to collaborate independently with teams from different business units and locations.
    • Presentation and visual communication skills.
    • Digital acumen and experience with relational databases.
    • Competent in producing Power BI reports.
    • Experience in developing applications in QuickBase.
