Service Reliability Engineer
Role Overview
As a member of the Front Office group, you will contribute to the FOROPS A team, focusing on the security, implementation, deployment, and support of our applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the operational integrity of Amadeus distribution services in the cloud by monitoring system health, availability, latency, and all operational criteria.
- Lead incident response efforts, conduct post-incident analyses, and facilitate follow-up reports.
- Drive continuous improvement throughout the product and platform lifecycle, encompassing design, deployment, operations, and refinement.
- Enhance monitoring, alerting, log management, and auto-recovery systems (e.g., Prometheus, Splunk, Grafana) to align with our SLAs and OLAs.
- Collaborate with application owners and middleware teams to review and support major releases and technical changes.
- Optimize on-call rotations and processes for all applications under support.
- Provide support for production and customer-facing test environments within the Amadeus distribution portfolio.
- Act as a liaison between Operations and Development teams during incident recovery and follow-up actions.
- Facilitate the migration to Amadeus Cloud Services (ACS), utilizing technologies such as OpenShift, Azure, Kubernetes, Docker, RedHat JBoss EAP 7, and Java 8.
- Exhibit strong troubleshooting skills in a cloud environment (OpenShift/Kubernetes).
- Establish and implement Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) processes using tools like Software Workbench and Jenkins-based delivery pipelines.
- Refine monitoring, alerting, and log management systems (Prometheus, Splunk, Grafana, etc.).
- Serve as a DevOps expert and architect within an Agile framework.
- Review and support changes to server-side infrastructure.
- Maintain and update documentation related to production architecture and operational guidelines.
- Evaluate application functional change requests and manage environment configurations.
- Coordinate and validate major releases and service packs for Amadeus distribution products.
- Monitor and enhance the availability and reliability of our offerings.
- Ensure the stability of production environments while adhering to SLAs.
- Address and follow up on all issues related to the production environment.
- Support the transition to Amadeus Cloud Services and foster a DevOps culture.
- Engage in proactive monitoring, problem-solving, and technical troubleshooting.
- Automate repetitive tasks and enhance tooling, monitoring, and alerting systems.
- Participate actively in an Agile Kanban team.
- Provide expertise on production architecture solutions and guidelines to ensure operability and stability.
- Maintain and update relevant documentation.
