Your Role
As a pivotal member of our R&D Team, comprising over 20 passionate data professionals, you will immerse yourself in a technologically advanced environment featuring Data Warehousing (BigQuery, etc.), data streaming platforms (Pub/Sub, Dataflow), orchestration tools (Airflow), modern deployment practices (Terraform), and management solutions (GCP).
Your primary responsibility will be to spearhead the development of the Echo Analytics SaaS platform, employing best practices in software engineering and machine learning. You will lead a talented group of engineers in architecting, building, and scaling this innovative platform. Key focuses will include establishing robust data pipelines, optimizing machine learning model performance, and ensuring a secure, efficient, and scalable system. Close collaboration with product managers and stakeholders will be essential to translate business requirements into technical specifications and deliver cutting-edge ML solutions that yield actionable insights for our clients.
Main Responsibilities
- Oversee and guide a team of five machine learning engineers and data scientists, managing project assignments, daily operations, and professional growth.
- Drive team development through hiring, training, and career advancement initiatives.
- Establish and implement career development plans and performance objectives for team members.
- Lead the deployment of machine learning models in production settings, ensuring scalability, robustness, and seamless integration with existing systems.
- Manage the entire lifecycle of machine learning projects, from data collection and model creation to deployment and maintenance, with a focus on computer vision and time series forecasting.
- Design and execute effective data storage, transformation, and modeling strategies in a cloud environment to support advanced machine learning applications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements and align machine learning strategies with business goals.
Qualifications
- Fluency in English (French is an advantage).
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities with experience mentoring and developing a team of machine learning engineers and data scientists (3+ years in a managerial role).
- Strong project management skills, adept at handling multiple projects simultaneously and meeting tight deadlines (experience with Lean management is a plus).
- 8+ years of experience in software development best practices and deploying applications in production environments.
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field with a solid foundation in software engineering principles.
- Extensive experience with at least one major machine learning framework (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch) and familiarity with ML production tools (MLflow, Kubeflow).
- Proficient in cloud technologies and services (Google Cloud, AWS, Azure) particularly in relation to deploying machine learning solutions.
