Job Title: Vice President of Business Systems

Workiva Inc. is seeking a highly experienced and strategic leader to join our team as Vice President of Business Systems. This critical role will be responsible for driving business growth and value through the effective use of technology.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute a strategic business technology plan to optimize technology capabilities and support diverse business goals.
  • Lead and manage a team of business technology professionals to foster a culture of innovation and collaboration.
  • Drive operational excellence and change management initiatives to simplify processes and improve efficiency.
  • Leverage M&A experience to consolidate business systems and ensure smooth transitions.
  • Maximize value from current technology and expand capabilities to meet diverse workforce needs.
  • Provide leadership and positioning of Business Technology as a critical and efficient entity committed to continuous improvement.
  • Deploy capabilities across the organization that leverage AI and automation to drive productivity and efficiency.
  • Ensure world-class infrastructure aligned with business requirements and integrate diverse perspectives into strategic technology goals.
  • Implement fair and inclusive operational processes and execute projects aligned with diverse business lines.
  • Lead a global team and foster a culture that values diversity and collaboration.
  • Define, maintain, and improve quality standards and manage operating costs.
  • Establish and sustain a customer-centric approach through continuous improvement and ensure a consistently high level of customer service orientation.
  • Recruit, develop, and retain top-talented individuals and foster an inclusive process that values diversity and equal career opportunities.
Requirements:
  • 15+ years of experience in technology leadership roles with increasing complexity, scale, and responsibility.
  • Proven ability to lead with empathy and foster a supportive and inclusive environment that empowers teams to thrive and collaborate effectively.
  • Deep knowledge of core GTM, Finance, and CPX systems like Salesforce, Workday, and Gainsight.
  • Undergraduate Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in a relevant field.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • MBA or equivalent advanced degree is desirable.
  • Experience leading technology platforms, applications, and IT infrastructure at scale in organizations exceeding $1B and with 5,000+ employees globally.
  • Proven track record of delivering cross-functional, tech-forward operational transformations across core functions (IT, Finance, and GTM).
  • Led and implemented strategies transforming global finance organizations, including successful ERP and Billing system implementations.
  • Successfully managed complex, global M&A initiatives, participating in the entire M&A life cycle from due diligence through post-merger integration and/or divestiture.
  • Demonstrates a background with a broad and deep understanding of emerging trends and technologies.
  • Agile thinker with a strong leadership presence, capable of influencing peers, senior executives, and the industry at large.
  • Able to manage up and down the organization internally and externally.
  • Provides examples of complex global stakeholder management in publicly traded organizations.
  • Has a track record of leading, organizing, and developing high-performing global teams through candid and empathetic coaching and mentoring.
  • Compelling leadership style with exceptional people management skills, program management, and business and technology expertise.
  • Inspires confidence through an intellectual and executive presence.
  • Acts as a true business partner across the organization, contributing to broader business conversations beyond functional expertise.
Travel Requirements & Working Conditions:
  • 15% travel for customer and internal meetings.
  • Reliable internet access for any period of time working remotely and not in a Workiva office.
How You'll Be Rewarded:

Salary range in the US: $224,000.00 - $303,000.00

A discretionary bonus typically paid annually.

Restricted Stock Units granted at time of hire.

401(k) match and comprehensive employee benefits package.

The salary range represents the low and high end of the salary range for this job in the US. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and other relevant factors.
