Position OverviewBecome a Key Player in the Fusion and Modular Nuclear Division Assystem is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to enhance our Fusion and Modular Nuclear (FMN) business unit. As pioneers in the creation and advancement of innovative technologies, you will engage in a variety of state-of-the-art projects aimed at realizing net-zero power generation.
Your Responsibilities:
- Project Leadership: Oversee assigned project tasks, orchestrating and strategizing with a dynamic engineering team while collaborating with project management.
- Engineering Innovation: Craft high-caliber engineering solutions across diverse topics and activities.
- Effective Communication: Relay insights on technical development and project execution to the Lead Engineer and Project Manager.
- Team Guidance: Direct small teams of engineers in fulfilling critical project objectives.
- Mentorship: Provide technical direction and support to team members, particularly junior or graduate engineers.
- Time Management: Skillfully manage your schedule to meet established timelines, budget targets, and quality benchmarks with minimal oversight.

- Educational Background: A minimum of a 2:1 BEng in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent); a Master's degree is advantageous.
- Professional Experience: Demonstrated engineering experience in highly regulated environments.
- Standards Knowledge: Familiarity with design codes such as Eurocode 3, ASME III, ASME VIII, RCC-M, and DNV codes.
- Software Proficiency: Experience with Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, and/or Catia CAD software (training provided).
- Analytical Skills: Knowledge of FEA and preferably experience with ANSYS Workbench.
- Mathematical Acumen: Strong mathematical foundation and experience with MathCAD is desirable.
- Design Process Understanding: Insight into the mechanical design cycle from concept to production.
- Hands-On Experience: Responsible for generating mechanical and structural engineering calculations, FEA, CAD, and technical drawings.
